British - WWI - 1914-15 Medal Trio to 8th Battalion West Riding Regiment - Britton - Gallipoli the obverse with a circular1914 15 Star (3 16642 Pte. J. W. Britton. W. Rid R.), British War Medal, Victory Medal (named as Star except rank as Cpl) John William Britton was from Adderley Green, Staffordshire and served in the 8th Battalion, West Riding Regiment. He landed in Gallipoli with his battalion 7 July 1915. Following the evacuation, Britton was transferred to the 32nd Brigade, Machine Gun Company. His service file has survived and may be consulted online.
